Under new EU safety rules, children will now be banned from blowing up balloons and other traditional party games, the Telegraph reports.
The EU toy safety directive, agreed and implemented, says, “Balloons must not be blown up by unsupervised children under the age of eight, in case they accidentally swallow them and choke.”
According to the paper, party games including whistles and magnetic fishing games are to be banned because their small parts or chemicals used in their making have been declared “too risky”.
Under the new rules, manufacturers and retailers will now have to attach safety warnings to toys.
Hey, remember when we were young, and we used to blow up balloons, and then we accidentally choked and died?
